Shopping of Another sort:

If you are into the more eclectic and vintage style of looking, there are numerous antique, thrift, and vintage shopping opportunities all over the city. Several are located in East Village, on 7th and 9th Streets, between 2nd Avenue and Avenue A (going west to east). Below are some specific shops we typically haunt.

Antiques:
There is a shuttle bus for $1 that will take you between the Chelsea Antiques Garage and the Hell's Kitchen Flea Market in Manhattan. Their website has information on both. [ www.hellskitchenfleamarket.com/fleamarket/index.php ]

Thrift Shops:

  - Small, but full clothing store in Chelsea. Great selection, reasonable prices.
Beacons Closet (Park Slope, Williamsburg)
  - This is a mostly consigment store of used clothes and shoes. There are two in Brooklyn.
Housing Works Thrift (West Village) 245 W 10th Street.
Angel Street Thrift Shop (Chelsea) 118 W 17th St.
